Wolverine’s Project Bootstrap Outfits River Point Tower Construction Crew with Nearly 200 Pairs of New Work Boots

Chicago (Sept. 23, 2016) – Wolverine, the more than 130-year-old Michigan-based company known for its quality work boots and apparel, brought its national Project Bootstrap campaign to Chicago’s River Point Tower construction site on Friday, September 23. Located along the edge of the Chicago River, the 52-story office tower will set the new standard for ultra-modern office space. The site is managed by Lendlease, a leading international construction management firm.

Wolverine outfitted nearly 200 Lendlease subcontractors with free Wolverine DuraShocks work boots and apparel as well as lunch and other giveaways. The national Wolverine Bootstrap campaign, inspired by Wolverine’s innovative founder G.A. Krause, aims to partner with people and companies who are building the future and share Wolverine’s bootstrap values. Construction crews across the country are welcome to nominate their jobsites for a chance to win by visiting wolverine.com/projectbootstrap.

“Lendlease is dedicated to the safety, health and wellbeing of all workers on our sites. We are thankful for their contributions in shaping our skyline and are appreciative to have Wolverine on-site to help us celebrate the men and women who have made this project a success,” said Jeffrey Riemer, Executive Vice President and Executive General Manager of Lendlease.

“Started in 2015, Project Bootstrap was created to connect directly with those who use our products every day,” said Todd Yates, president of Wolverine Brand. “We send members of our marketing, product development and sales teams to crash construction sites and spend time with crew members. Our teams also share information about Wolverine, learn more about our consumers’ needs, and thank crewmembers for all their hard work by outfitting them with new boots.”

In addition to 52 stories of office space, River Point will feature a 1.5 acre plaza and river walk, an advanced fitness center and a formal restaurant. The Project will offer dramatic world-class architecture, Pre-Certified LEED Gold sustainable design, and outstanding views from all office floors. The Pickard Chilton design features a striking convex structure that will create panoramic city views with efficient, column-free floor plates and floor to ceiling glass. The building’s impressive three-story lobby will open onto an expansive riverside plaza and river walk, the newest addition to Chicago’s unique riverfront.
