Comfort
The ultimate boot - by , Aug 12, 2019
5/ 5 Stars
This will now be my third pair of 1000 mile boots. I love them so much! My wife got me my first pair 5 years ago and wear them consistently in the snow, casual or dressed up and they never let me down. The best part is to give them a good polish and they look as good as new. (I only bought three so I had them in different colors) My wife asked why would I want the same bought in different colors? It's because it's dependable, comfortable and looks great. They are by far the best purchase in my closet.

Solid, well-made, beautiful boots. The best. - by , Jun 22, 2019
5/ 5 Stars
These are the most substantial pair of boots I've ever owned. They come in a very nice box, wrapped in soft black cloth, with Horween leather tags attached (Horween leather has been made in Chicago since 1905). The smell is just amazing. The leather is thick and firm, but it's not "hard." After an hour of wearing them the day they arrived, the next day they were very comfortable. The sole is surprisingly flexible. The waxed laces are sturdy and should last a very long time. The "hooks" which hold the laces above the ankle are a nice touch. I might have preferred regular eyelets up there, because it takes a bit more work to lace them up each time. The sizing runs a little big, so you might want to order a half-size smaller than you normally do. With thicker "boot" socks it may not matter. But those are minor points. Bottom line, these boots are probably the coolest looking shoes or boots I've ever owned. And they are surprisingly comfortable. Add to that the fact that the boots, the leather they're made of, the laces, etc. are made in USA. The construction quality is amazing. Honestly, I didn't even know shoes or boots like this existed. Wish I had bought these earlier.

Bit of a weird review here because I bought mine secondhand, and I have no idea the date of manufacture. I'm also not super experienced with other high-end boot manufacturers, so I can't offer much by way of comparison, but that said? I actually cursed out loud the first time I put this boot on my foot because I have never had any full leather boot be so comfortable. No pinching at the toes or instep, no bite at the heel cup or ankle--and that full leather insole is gorgeous. I'm a woman, but I've got wide feet and I find that men's shoes tend to have a more comfortable (wide) toebox and generally higher quality. Based on the reviews I read about this boot running large, I picked a half size down from what I'd usually wear in men's, and it's PERFECT. Like dear god, these boots are on par with Uggs for comfort, but they look sharp as hell. Only my Keen hiking boots have ever been close to this comfortable, and those are, well, hiking boots. Since mine are secondhand, I can say they're a little creased in the toe from wear, and a couple of the seams had some loose/split thread ends that I trimmed off (so those are likely things that will occur with other pairs as they break in), but the vibram heel looks like it's never touched the ground before, and I know that's not at all the case. The upper is in fantastic shape too (cordovan color), soft and pliable but very thick (about 3mm), and it's extremely obvious the leather is going to hold up beautifully with time. I didn't buy mine retail, but if these hold up even close to as long as I suspect they will, I'll be buying another pair. I'm also bizarrely pleased with the waxed laces? I think I'll be buying a couple spare pairs to relace some other boots.

Great Fitting Boots - by , May 12, 2019
5/ 5 Stars
I have purchased severals pairs of 1000 Mile Boots. I have been very pleased with the fit, comfort, and durability. These shoes are high quality- after normal wear and tear- these shoes have the capability of having new soles placed on the them by a reputable shoe repairer; thus extending the wear life of the boots.

Poor craftsmanship!! - by , May 08, 2019

Just un-boxed my 1000 mile boots. Great box. They restitched the heal of the right boot. Thread doesn’t even match. Holes in the leather they tried to cover up are embarrassing. Heartbroken. Was looking forward to wearing these to dinner. Called customer service number. Told that defectives department handles this issue and I’ll get an email.

I purchased these boots brand new for 400 dollars less than two weeks ago. I've worn them 3 or 4 times lightly out to dinner and the heel is coming apart on the boot already.

Wasn't worth the money and wait - by , May 03, 2019

This is my second review, the first wasn't published. I purchased the 1000k boots just before Thanksgiving 2018, I had been watching and really admiring their style for a couple years and decided to finally make the move to a work boot that I could put some real wear and tear on. Working for GM as an engineer on the floor 10 to 12 hrs an day, I am always on my feet and walking long distances. Previously I had been purchasing mid level quality boots/ shoes that I would go through 2 or 3 pairs in a year. Lol I know that seems like a lot but I am always moving. Anyway after doing my research and falling in love with the durability and style of these boots for years I decided to finally pull the trigger and make the purchase. I knew from reviews that they tended to run a little big, so I decided to go to Nordstrom at my local high end mall to get properly fitted. After trying on my normal size(10.5) and the 10 with my normal work socks on, the salesman was very insightful and I chose the smaller size because the fit was good and snug. Fast-forward a few months of some pretty intense and painful breaking in period, with blisters on the tops of my big toes and pinky toe, and increasingly having to sinch the laces tighter and tighter to achieve a good level of support I realized that the boots were still too big. Over that time period the boots weren't extremely comfortable, I had to purchase in soles for extra cushioning but I figured they might have just been stiff still. So by this time I had already worn them in a bit, the tops of the boots looked terrible, they have a lot of extra leather that wrinkles up and appears sloppy. Having invested so much money and having looked forward to wearing these boots for years I tried to reach out to Wolverine and Nordstrom, (I have the receipt and the original box) with no luck at all, just a sorry that's too bad. I guess my only advise is to triple check your sizing and if you suspect for a moment that they might be the wrong size, return or exchange them as quickly as possible or else you'll be out of a lot of cash with only a sad pair of boots to show for it.

Beautiful, but broke down FAST - by , Apr 25, 2019

Bought these in black 1.5 years ago, and I was so excited because they are my ideal looking boot. They were great for the first 5-6 months but in fairly quick succession began to break down. Some of the stitching started to split, the sole felt loose, and I lost confidence in wearing them. And I strictly wore them in casual settings, not anything that be considered high-impact. I might try again someday, but I’m pretty bummed because I do love the boot - especially the Cordova No.8! Gorgeous.
