Russet Brown

Named for Wolverine’s founder, G.A. Krause, the Krause boot is made in America from Horween Dublin Leather. The leather is tanned in a process similar to the process used to make shell horsehide, resulting in great depth of color that is highlighted in the Krause by contrast stitching along the archival pattern line and cap toe. The full lace-up boot has a butyl-treated leather outsole, Vibram heel lift, and a classic leather storm-welt with traditional Goodyear Welt construction.

The Krause are my second pair of 1000's (current pair are the Morley). I got these to be a step up from the Morley (slight as that might be), for wear with absolutely anything. Seriously, there is enough class to these to wear with a tux (just add a little shine), but can still pair with khakis. As stated in another review, the stitching and lacing are brown despite the pictures, though in my case, I was really hoping the pictures were correct as I got them primarily because of the maroon contrasting stitching. The materials and construction are perfect, though I would like to see something under the front of the boot ala the Morley to prevent slipping as these are pretty slippery out of the box, perhaps a new version to incorporate the colored stitching and "anti-skid" sole? As for the sizing, it is the same as I have with the Morley, 7.5 though I normally wear a 9, and with break in, I have enough room for inserts (though these do not need them and I do not use them).

My Favorite Boots By Jerame 9/2/2014
These boots are phenomenal. As others have mentioned, they're comfortable straight out of the box and they're absolutely gorgeous to boot (ha!) The color in the online photo gives the stitching and lacing and almost purple/mauve hue on my computer, but don't be fooled - it's a brown lace and stitch. They do run about a half-size large compared to my normal size. I usually wear a 10.5 and the 10 fits perfectly. I rated them larger than expected, but I got the right size because I'd tried on similar styles at a retail store and found that 10 fit me best.

TOP OF THE LINE By TheLife 1/14/2014
I wasn't sure which I liked more, so I got the Krause, Rockford, and Courtland. These are TOP NOTCH, the best 1000 mile boots that Wolverine offers. Well worth the cost! You can find more on these shoes and other American-Heritage goods on my YouTube Channel. 'LifeMiscellaneous' Definitely get 1/2 to 1 size smaller than usual.
Wolverine's Reply: These are beautiful shoes that will catch anyone'e eye! Thank you so much for this superb review and tip on sizing.
