Nice boot but inconsistent manufacturing The dark brown version of this boot is minimal and rugged looking while being comfortable and needing almost no break-in. They felt slightly narrow in the toes but I expect that to loosen up with some wear. In picking a fashionable, non-technical, actually-waterproof boot, there aren't a lot of decent looking choices - let alone in classic styles. The Cort stands almost alone in this category. The unfortunate downside to these boots is that after finding several pairs of the same boot in the same size, I encountered a noticeable variety in fit, and extreme variation in the leather coloring and finish between boots in each pair, and in the same pair, and even within one boot between the vamp/toes and the quarter or between the left and right sides. And none of the pairs I tried looked quite as pleasantly dark and waxy as online photos. I eventually found a pair with minimal variation and dark enough color that I was willing to accept them, but I'm not totally happy with the result and would love to see a shoe that looks exactly like the ads. I recommend buying these in person to see what they actually look and fit like first.

Better than some I was looking for a waterproof boot that didn't look like a pair of hiking boots or waders. These are not what I would think of calling chukkas, but they are light weight and (so far) waterproof. Ordered in the "brown" color which is more like a dirty yellow. They were pretty ugly, even for a "distressed" looking boot. For reference they looked more worn out than my Double H boots I have had for 11 years. Since the size was a little off I ordered a half size down and got the dark brown color, which is much better looking. Gave them 3 stars because for this price, the leather feels pretty thin (more like my dress shoes than a pair of boots), it has a no-name sole and waterproofing. Would prefer to see them with a Vibram or similar sole and Gore Tex membrane. Also don't understand why they don't have a removable insole or come in wide sizes and more colors. Bottom line, they are decent (not great) for good looking boots to wear in rainy days and snow/slush. They are not going to replace your hiking/hunting/work boots, however.
