Oh, so glad I bought these! Purchased these in September to replace yet another pair of cheap, lousy, discount store boots. Well, not really cheap but lousy, regardless. The discount store boots, well, have no sole. It looks like a sole. It feels like a sole, at first... But it ain't a sole! Bought the Canonsburgs at Larry's Boots outside Columbia, MO. I almost balked, then decided to take the plunge. And brother, am I glad I did! These aren't insulated boots, but they are quality leather, and very comfortable when you break them in. I did this on a four-mile walk near Cleveland, OH, just to go to the store after I got stranded trying to pick up a truck. The only downer I had was the insoles, which left my feet burning and irritated after the first two miles. I remedied this by putting in heavy duty insoles with gel cushions, and that fixed the problem. I'm a big man, and hard on boots, so this won't count against my rating them 5 stars. I destroy cheap soles. I can break them down into spongy, limp, whimpering, grainy bits in a matter of months. In one memorable case, I split a pair in half in less than two weeks. That's down the middle, from shank to toe. But these Cannonsburgs take it and keep on going. They are my favorite pair of boots since I outgrew my old Tony Lamas that I had for almost 20 years. Comfortable, not too heavy, a a delight to have on my feet. Thanks, Wolverine!

great looking/comfortable about the best looking of your work boots, more like an old style hiker. surprised that the sizing is right on, meaning they are 1/2 size less than a nike or hiking boot, but match what your dress shoe would be...or did so with me. i assume all the work and protection necessities are solid by other reviews and the way this boot looks, i bought it for the old school good boot looks, having a lot of the classic 50s/60s european hiking boot with welt construction-look. pretty darn close in style to my heavier Alico italian-made $300 hiking boots that have been discontinued. i've worked construction, but that was decades ago, i got these to wear with straight or boot cut jeans, walking around, doing errands, typical things. they are light enough and fit well enough to even drive in. the main thing was, i had loved the styles of skecher work boots but found the sizing was bizarro, and they were thin, didn't fit well, had defects in the outer leather, and one pair had the leather pull loop pull off on one of the boots the third time i was putting them on. i wanted something that not only looked good, but could be as durable as they looked, and i had no doubt with wolverines. now that i have just put them on (first wolverines ever) i see they are great, solid, durably built, and should last a darn long time, as well as look good with my jeans. i'm done buying great looking anything only to find out it's all for show...i may get stuff just because i like the style, but i don't want faux clothes...it better be capable of holding up to what the styling promises. and these sure look and feel like they will. great fit too.
