Disappointed for the first time

I have owned dozens of pairs of Wolverine boots. They are always wonderful. Comfort from day one and no break in period make them the best around. As a production supervisor, I would insist my employees only bought Wolverine boots for work. I recently bought a pair of W04417 6" soft toe boots. After just a couple months, the leather inside the toes has started to buckle in and press down on my toes. It can't be seen from the outside, but both boots have something like a hard vein pressing downward. While the soles are still perfect, these boots are just too uncomfortable to wear. Has this been a problem with this stock number or with Wolverine in general? I'd hate to buy my first pair of non-Wolverine boots in years. I wouldn't even know what to try. Can you offer any advice?
