Another conductor By N/A 6/30/2011
This is in my humble opinion a perfect boot. As a freight conductor we're out in ALL weather and are walking on uneven ballast, climbing on dirty, greasy, rusty, hot, cold abrasive, nasty, chemically saturated stuff for, usually...all friggin day...10-12 hrs. We may walk as much as 5 miles in a shift on this kind of crap. This boot has held up amazinglly. I've worn it every day for 9 months so far, and they are still going strong. I bought a back up pair, but have'nt even tried them on need. That being said I take good care of them, they go on a Peet boot dryer when i get home till I'm called again, and I clean them about once a month, using Snow seal to protect them after they are clean and dry. I wore them all winter with just Smartwool socks no overboots. The soles get a bit hard in real cold so you gotta be careful. The problem now is that they only come in the 400 gr insulated version, and they are too hot for me now so I'm on a quest to find something as good that is not insulated, and 100% waterproof. If you need a ST ,H20 insulater boot that is REALLY comfortable this is it......Now we just gotta hope that they don't DISCONTINUE IT as companies ALWAYS seem to do
