Shafts are TOO NARROW! By L.Allen 10/21/2012

I just received my second pair of Wolverine Wellington boots, and, again, I have had to use a boot shaft stretcher on each pair because the inside diameter of the shaft on a size 11.5 EW boot is 5 inches, making the available circumference 15.7 inches. Now, a man wearing a size 11.5 extra wide boot is unlikely to be able to fit his foot through such a narrow opening, and so I question why Wolverine, whose lace-up boots fit easily when unlaced, would make such a narrow shaft on an otherwise excellent boot...? Please revisit this problem! (By the way, once stretched to a passable 6" diameter/19" circumference - using a $180 boot stretcher - the foot slides in nicely and the fit is perfect internally.)
