I have been wearing Wolverine Wellingtons for over 10 years, and this current incarnation is my third pair. I switched from steel toe to composite to reduce the weight of my boot, and also tried the new Direct-attach sole to avoid the delamination and sole-crack that was occurring in my other ones after 2-3 years of 5-6 day work wear. I do a lot of welding, and of all the laceless boots I have worn, these experienced the least amount of stretch (in other words, minimal break-in time) and maintain their fit for the life of the boot. The real reason I am writing today is because I am in bed with a bruised foot. Yesterday morning, I stuck my foot under an 8,000 pound forklift tire. The composite toe actually acting like a wheel chock, and the forklift could not get over it with the weight on the forks. But the side of the tire that was NOT on the composite crunched the other bones in my foot, and they are bruised with a bunch of stretched ligaments to go with them. The reason I will be walking in 3 days instead of 3 months is the strength of that composite toe. It took the brunt of the load, and spared the rest of my footbones from being crushed into oblivion. My recommendations: 1. Spend the money on comfortable quality. These boots have historically not only saved my feet, but my ankles and even my back over the years. My health is worth it. 2. I know composite toes aren't OSHA compliant, but if my anecdotal evidence will convince you, go ahead and save yourself a few ounces with each step. You can take that extra energy and spend it taking a walk with your wife or kids at the end of the day. 3. Do NOT ATTEMPT TO WALK WITH THE D*MN FORKLIFT WHILE STEADYING A LOAD. Honestly, what a stupid thing to do. Thanks, Wolverine, for covering my ass. I promise, I won't do it again.

What a great pair of boots. Work in them all day in the hot sun and at night hesitate to take them off because they feel so good on my feet. Makes you want to work extra jobs just because you know you'll get to wear these boots until the job is done. best boots I've ever owned. i threw away my house slippers.
