Wolverine Introduces the Wolverine: Traveler
Following the success of 2012’s Ramblers Bone, Wolverine has once again teamed with photographer and adventurer Mikael Kennedy to return to the road. Wolverine: Traveler will consist of a series of trips taken by Mikael Kennedy and various travel companions, chronicling historical people and places. The first trip with photographer, teacher and writer Blaine Davis will run from June 11 – 19.
Equipped with the latest Wolverine boots, Kennedy and his companions will document their adventures daily on Wolverine 1k's Instagram feed (@wolverine1k) and twitter feed (@wolverine1k), building up to the release of the full journey on Wolverine.com upon their return. Chapters in the adventure will feature photos and text, creating a narrative of their journey that will be available starting July 1.
Founded in 1883, American bootmaker Wolverine crafted the boots and shoes that helped explore and build America as we know it today. The first Wolverine: Traveler adventure will set out to explore Wolverine's backyard, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Kennedy and Davis will begin their journey from Wolverine headquarters in Rockford, Mich. on June 11, heading north and crossing through the straits of Mackinac to the untouched wilderness and beauty beyond. Over the course of the ten-day trip, Kennedy and Davis will weave their way through the small towns and preserved wildlife looking for what makes the UP such a unique part of the American landscape. The journey will culminate on the northernmost tip of the UP when they board a seaplane headed to Isle Royal National Park, one of the least visited national parks in America. Once on the island they’ll spend two nights at the Rock Harbor lodge and explore the interior of the island by foot.
